CURRENT ISSUES For over 30 years, Bridges for Peace has helped Christian leaders find the answers to these and other difficult questions about Israel: • Is the founding of the modern State of Israel and the ongoing return of the Jewish people to Israel the fulfillment of Bible prophecy? Then what about the Palestinian Christians? And the Muslims?
• The prevailing historical attitude has left many Christians with the impression that Israel is of no particular significance to the Church today. How do you help congregants understand why Israel is critical to the Church today?
• Christians are becoming interested in the Old Testament biblical feasts. Are they for the Church, and if so, should we celebrate them?
• The political and religious issues in the Israel/Palestinian situation appear to be inseparable and often the political questions are being given spiritual answers and vice versa. What does the Bible say about this?
• Despite the atrocities perpetrated against the Jewish people throughout history in the name of Christianity, there are increasing opportunities for friendship between the Church and the Jewish community. How should churches respond?

The Christian Leaders Forum is
a day-long event held around the
country primarily for pastors and
ministry leaders. It is designed to
help Christian leaders understand
the crucial issues regarding
Israel and the Church today. The
forum is a place to interact, ask
questions, and equip attendees
to interpret difficult current
issues from a biblical base. It is
a one-day, seven-hour program
and includes handouts, lunch and
a copy of the book Israel and
the Church: God’s Road Map by
Rebecca J. Brimmer and Bridges

The media constantly bombards us with reports of events in the Middle East. We are continually confronted with scenes of violence and destruction in Israel and hear phrases such as “right of return,” “occupied territories” and “land for peace.” But, what does it all mean? Christian leaders are asked difficult questions about these complicated issues… answers that are rarely easy to find. Congregants often allow the secular media to be their only interpreter of events of profound biblical and prophetic significance. The Christian Leaders Forum helps pastors and ministry leaders understand the historical and biblical background of today’s events, as well as the prophetic importance of the issues, making it easier to answer difficult questions.
Though historically many believed that Israel had disappeared forever from the stage of human history, it again occupies the attention of world leaders and the thoughts of Christians. It is not a closed file spiritually, and demands each church leader to come to some conclusion. This forum is intended to help them prepare for that moment.
The Christian Leaders Forum is a one-day program developed by Bridges for Peace to provide sound, biblically-based information on the nation of Israel, the Jewish people, and the Hebraic roots of Christianity. |
All presenters are certified through a Bridges for Peace national training program and are well-equipped to help pastors and ministry leaders understand these complicated issues using the following five sessions:
Session 1
Understanding Israel from a Scriptural Perspective
